Galway I are committed to providing compassionate and effective support to help you navigate life's challenges and achieve lasting well-beiny, either online or face to face.

Addressing Common Challenges in Life

Many of my clients face similar but difficult struggles. I provide support for generalised anxiety, panic attacks, and depressive episodes, relationship difficulties and breakdown, coercive control and workplace bulling, all of which are often exacerbated by modern life, social media pressures, and economic uncertainties. I also assist those navigating bereavement, job loss, or relationship breakdowns. My services extend to addressing work-related stress, burnout, and feelings of loneliness and isolation, which are prevalent in today's fast-paced world. These difficulties lead to distrust and isolation and unhelpful coping mechanisms such as behavioural and substance addictions often exasperate the initial life strugghle. I also strive to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and provide a safe space for you to seeking help.

My Approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy

I offer a mature and experienced approach, backed by a Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University. My approach involves creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges. I recognise the interconnectedness of issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship problems to substances and behavioural addictions My specialised training in addiction counselling allows for a deeper understanding of how substance abuse and behavioural addictions often serve as coping mechanisms.

We work together to tailor our work to your specific needs, using a range of theoretical approaches, including person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems and Attachment Theory, Cognative Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Also, a blend of empathy, congruence, and this expertise in different counselling theories and psychoeducation offers an effective path to understanding your difficulties and results in confidence building, improved self esteem and decision making.

Who Benefits Most From Our Services?

The ideal client who benefits most from my services include those who require empathy and unconditional positive regard with no judgement. I feel that I  can also help individuals learn coping skills, relaxation techniques, and ways to manage negative thought patterns. Also clients who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) find that they benefit as together, we experience a safe, confidential space to process and heal from traumatic experiences.

Therapy is a critical component in addressing both the addiction and the underlying issues that may have led to it. Psychotherapy, especially when part of a multi-modal programme, is effective in helping individuals address the psychological and emotional factors of eating disorders. My clients can also benefit from counselling for life challanges and personal, development. Many people benefit from therapy who may not have a diagnosable mental health condition but are struggling with specific life events or seeking personal growth.
